Hello
We are having a 1 Gbps ISP Link & we are using Cisco ASR 1k as our Internet Router. Peak bandwidth Utilization is around 450-500 Mbps. In the existing setup, we are about to replace the Cisco ASR 1002 with Cisco 3845.
Current setup & utilization:
-1 WAN link (1 Gbps)
-WAN link utilization is 450 – 500 Mbps
-1 LAN Link
-Packet Per second utilization is 80K – 150K PPS
Query:
If we put Cisco 3845 in place of ASR, as our Internet Router,
(a) can it sustain the existing traffic ?
(b) Is it advisable to replace the ASR 1002 with Cisco 3845 as the primary internet router (with 1G ISP Link) ?
(c) What would be the possible Impact, if we replace the ASR 1002 with cisco 3845 ?
(d) From the cisco Router Performance Datasheet, it is mentioned that CISCO 3845 Router can handle a max. bandwidth of 256 Mbps (in Gigabit Ethernet). As our current average peak traffic is between 450 Mbps-500 Mbps, what will happen if the total bandwidth utilization exceeds beyond 256 Mbps in cisco 3845?
