Speaker combined with Handset

Hi,

one of my customer asked me if it is possible to enable speaker but still talk through handset.

I have no idea if it is possible, can you help me?

This feature is generally used in conference room where voice Tx is through handset and Rx is on speaker.

Idea is to allow all all people in a room to listen the conversation through speaker but only moderator speaks through handset.

This feature is available with many legacy PBX vendors.

I'll will also be interested in knowing if Cisco supports it or not. May be our friends here in community throw some light if it's available.

Depending on phone model. Typically no full-duplex speaker (most phones) NO, but there are some half-duplex speaker phones i.e. 7912, 7905 that behaved that way.
