I have checked the registry issue that someone shows online, and do not have that issue.

Please suggest a solution.

I have this exact same issue - has worked flawlessly for about a year, now this every time.  Did you find a solution?

I upgraded AVG recently, but I just tried disabling that, and I still get the same error.

I should add that Shrew Soft VPN Client works fine, and imports the Cisco VPN config, but all the same I'd rather use Cisco VPN.

I found this: http://www.codepal.co.uk/show/Cisco_VPN_client_error_Reason_442_Failed_to_enable_virtual_adapter_on_Windows_8

For some reason my Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows device had become disabled.  Once I re-enabled that, the VPN now connects.

Hope that helps anyone with the same issue.
