To Whom It May Concern,
I have a Customer who is currently using D9902 DCM and using 1:1 Redundancy for its' GBe Port Pairs.
They do occasionally, perform some manual switching using the Web Interface, in IGMP Configuration, after changing an existing Backup's Configuration. They effectively:
- Delete the existing Backup Entry.
- Create a New Backup Entry having the same Multicast address, but changing the Source Address.
- Then Enable the Join.
- Then Switch to the Backup.
Recovery is a manual process to reverse:
- Delete the newly created Backup Entry.
- Create a New Backup Entry having the same Multicast address, but changing back to the original Source Address.
- Then Enable the Join
Q1:I need to know if this is the desired method to perform such switching OR if it is possible to have multiple entries having the same Multicast Address but differing Source IP Addresses and simple Enabling/Disabling?
Q2: Looking to perform these same Tasks (or new suggested ones) using the SNMP Interface instead of the Web Interface. Is this Tasking available via SNMP?
Thanks In Advance,
