If you continue to have issue with built in java player, try Audiotext Manager for Connection.  This is much better tool for CUCX and it's free.

In CUCX, If you go to the user in question , EDIT>Greetings  does it say "recording" at the standard greeting? In other words is there an indication that the WAV file you uploaded has been marked as recorded?

Check your Java version is compatible, like in this doc:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/10x/requirements/10xcucsysreqs.html#pgfId-622471

If that's not your version, you can find the similar doc for other versions in the main CUC documentation page, or searching cisco.com

It's like Jaime says, related to Java version, work around is to record the name first and then upload the wav file to the greeting.  In general I found firefox works best with the recording applet.
