Need to know about the SRST license

I go through the many of the docs & video about the SRST & ESRST but no where the details about the licensing part was covered.

there are certain queries me facing related to the SRST license .

1. How to find no. of license in any cisco router .

Is below mention command is right one to know the SRST license installed in cisco router "show license detail cme-srst"

2. If we are having 1200 SRST licenses & there are currently 2000 IP phones are used on the site...then how the 1200 SRST licenses used....

3. not clear about the how the SRST licenses no is use.

1. You do not, SRST are RTU paper licenses that do not get applied

2. you should not exceed the licenses purchased by allowing only limited phones to register under SRST, you can control which phone registers via device pool/SRST reference configuration

3. Again, RTU licenses, max-ephone command controls the limit and should match what you purchased, though nothing prevents you from technically entering other values.

Hello Chris...

I understood some things but not clear the doubts

Please find the below command output which indicates there are1200 License Count.

My query is if on site there are 2400 ip phones & if my router can mange up to 1200 in case WAN link down ..then on what basis 1200 ip phones are going to register with VGW in SRST mode out of 2400

Hello Deepak,

Document is good to understand the SRST config & Lic part...still having a query suppose we installed 1200 SRST lic. on cisco 3945 router & we are having something around 2400 IP Phone though that VGW then is there any mechanism to support 1200ip phone...i mean on what basis 1200 IP Phones are supported from 2400 total ip phones.

Hi Vijay,

You do not load any licenses on router for SRST.I do not think there is any way to configure router to support any 1200 from 2400 IP phones in network.

secondly, Chris has already mentioned in point 3

can u share the output of show call-manager-fallback license from Router?
