2960X + 2960S indicate layer 3 support on SNMP MiB but shouldn't

Hi,

We're using the 2960s as switches, but our network administration software is trying to get information from the devices' ARP tables even though they are empty. This is because the 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.7 (sysServices) MiB value indicate that it supports layer 3, even though I believe this series mostly doesn't support it. Is this a bug or is there a reason for this?

Steven

You can still put an IP address on the switch for management, and it still has an ARP cache.

It just doesn't do layer 3 packet forwarding.
