DHCP Wireless Scope

Hi,

We require some assistance about extending our DHCP wireless scope. We are currently getting very close to the limit.

Our wireless scope is VLAN 134. We have a VLAN either side of this (Unsure if either are used).

Thanks,

Hello

if you cannot extend your existing subnet you can create an additional dhcp scope with a entirely new range and append its default gateway to your existing vlan 134 as a secondary address

Then apply the global command

ip dhcp smart-relay

So now when no dhcp offer is received from vlan 134 primary scope off the dhcp server ( like when the scope has no leases left)

It will look at your secondary address on vlan 134 and provide dhcp leases from the new scope of that vlan

So I can just set a new DCHP scope, for example 140 and set the default gateway in the settings to the same as the 134 scope??

I take it the ip dhcp smart-relay command is run on the core switch in configuration mode?
