Dial Rules for Jabber in CUCM 11

We have CUCM 11 Server and Jabber for windows Android and IPhone.

As usual user has to dial 9 for any PSTN Calls. But Users are requesting that Copying the number from Mobile Phone directory

and editing it for CUCM Dialing is troublesome , need some automatic process to make it more user friendly.

After checking cisco Documentation I have found there are two options to eidt Called Number

1) User Translation Pattern, This looks troublesome as need to create additional Partition and CSS. As this applied only for few jabber users.

2) User Dial Rules : Second option found is Using SIP or Application Dial Rules.

I can see SIP Dial Rule Option in Windows Jabber and Can see Application dial rules in Android and iPhone Users.

But cannot find any proper documentation to configure Dial Rules.Can anyone help on configuring the same.

IP Phone does not take Application dial rule into consideration while making calls.

Application dial rule are for softphone or CSF device. They can't be used for desk phone. For deskphone you may to configure transformation pattern as that may help you. refer the below :

My customer wants to use Jabber in desk phone mode and use Application dial rules to convert the existing phone number in AD field to 10 digit number. The question is as follows:

  1. Does the above scenario support the new 8800 series phone or older 79/89/9900 or it does not depend which phone are being used by Jabber during desk phone mode?

This is ambiguous. If I have Jabber controlling a physical phone are the application dial rules considered? Or is it strictly if I'm only using jabber as a softphone (CSF)?
