CSCus69731 - Clarity on Affected Releases

Hello,

With respect to the following:

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCus69731

One of the affected releases include 15.1(2)SG  and the fix is to upgrade to 15.1(2)SG6. We have switches running IOS-XE ver 03.04.01.SG such as the following.

Core#sh ver | i Soft|bootfl

Cisco IOS Software, IOS-XE Software, Catalyst 4500 L3 Switch Software (cat4500e-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 03.04.01.SG RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

System image file is "bootflash:/cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.01.SG.151-2.SG1.bin

Is this version affected or is 03.04.01.SG totally different from those listed as affected in the link?

Thanks in advance.

Yes it looks to be as if you go to the download page the 151-2.SG1 is just 3.4.1SG(ED) which is on the release as effected , so 15.1-2SG1 is 15.1-2SG

https://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=283289791&softwareid=282046477&release=3.4.1SG&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=ED&reltype=latest

ED early deployments can be more susceptible to bugs than MDs main deployments because there not as thoroughly tested

Hi

No the first bit is the IOS-XE 03.04.01 (release number ) bit and the 15.1-2 is the IOSd section that allows you to correlate with actual older ios versions,  your effected by that bug unfortunately going by the list

The SG6 is a better image its an MD the one you are currently on is ED

Thanks for the response Mark. So just to clarify, my switch is indeed affected?

Alrighty then. Thanks Mark.
