Port access through switches

My job is to write test programs for data loggers (for cars). I have to test 4 ethernet sockets of our data logger. Til now I use some PC LAN adapters, ping and ftp to test these ports. Because amount of LAN adapters in PC is limited, I want to use a Switch to provide more ethernet ports.

Here is my configuration:

PC                                            Switch (managed)                          Data Logger
                                                 cisco SG300-10
192.168.1.101 <---cable----->                                 <----cable----> 192.168.1.233
192.168.2.101                                                         <----cable----> 192.168.2.233
192.168.3.101                                                         <----cable----> 192.168.3.233
192.168.4.101                                                         <----cable----> 192.168.4.233

When I configure the 4 ports as protected (in switch) it works fine. But I can not detect if one or more ports are broken. I only detect it when all ports are broken. Therefore I added some ACL/ACE rules to the switch to force each subnet to a certain port. But this does not work because (I assume)  both sides (PC and data logger) only use one MAC address at their ports.

Can anyone help me to find a solution for this problem ?

I did a second test where I used a second PC instead of the data logger. Here is the configuration:

PC1                                 Switch                        Switch                  PC2
                                        (managed)
192.168.1.101 <-cable->                   <-cable->             <-cable-> 192.168.1.233
192.168.2.101                                   <-cable->                              192.168.2.233
192.168.3.101                                   <-cable->                              192.168.3.233
192.168.4.101                                   <-cable->                              192.168.4.233

Here same problem appeared. On PC1 I ping all PC2 addresses and on PC2 I ping all PC1 addresses. I can add the ACL/ACE rules for subsystem 2, 3 and 4. But when I add rule for subsystem 1 connection of subsystem 2, 3 and 4 fails.
