Supporting Multiple Regulatory Domains via 1 Cisco WLC

I am on the hunt for any and all Cisco documentation that outlines the appropriate Controller deployment design ( how many WLCS and where they should be located) per Cisco.

It is my understanding that we need 1 WLC per regulatory domain. I am unable to find any Cisco documentation stating this however.

Any help would be much appreciated. I believe I have a clear understanding of how this situation works and the implications of supporting multiple Regulatory domains via 1 WLC. However, I have been unable to locate any Cisco documentation that outlines the do's and and dont's of this type of architecture.

This is a good article, but my customer wants to see this information straight from Cisco.

On these docs, it's written that you can have multiple country code per WLC.

Depends on the AP. If the AP supports the new "universal Regulatory Domain" (-UX) then it is possible that multiple "universal Regulatory Domain" APs installed in conflicting Regulatory Domain can be supported by one controller.

You can configure multiple country domains on the WLC as well for AP join. As it is a universal SKU AP (-UXK9), it should join the WLC regardless of the country domain set on the WLC.
