Solved: How to Export Jabber-Contacts

Hi,

this is my first Time here in CSC.

I hope you can help me :)

We use Jabber on Windows and now i have the following Request:

A User leave´s the Company. Now the new One need all the Contacts and Groups.

Is it possible to transfer the Jabber-Contacts from Client-to-Client? Is there an 3rd-Party Application availible?

Then you will need to get the info via CLI, and then create a .xml that you can provide your user to import directly in Jabber

IM&P -> Bulk Administration -> Contact List -> Export Contact List

Then use the update option to move them to the new user.

I followed your way and there is an error:

Begin Time : 07/13/2016 16:16:57

******** NO ERROR FOUND ********

Result Summary :

EXPORT for 0 Contacts passed.

EXPORT for 0 Contacts failed.

End Time : 07/13/2016 16:16:57

There are no sql results for this query

What i have to do now?

I just tested in my lab and it works fine, not sure what you're doing to get that.

I suggest you try a few different users and see the outcome.

Yes, thats right.

I made a test with my Account.

It exports only the internal Contacts not the external.

The User i need to export only have external Contacts.

Hey Jaime,

I tried to follow your instructions, but I am not aware of how I can create the xml file out of the sql statements, because all table output of the custom contacts are encrypted - any Idea?

I need to export the external contacts for many users, but in the document I cannot find a CLI command the list the whole contacts for a user.

You can use Vcard Exporter Tool for exporting outlook contacts to Vcard without changing their content. I hope you will get the accurate results with this tool. The entire working of the tool seems to be simple.
