Hello All,
I have a customer who ordered a ISR 4321 with NIM-4MFT-T1/E1 module, a PVDM4-64 and a PVDM4-256
However while configuring the 3 E1 lines i can configure 2 E1 lines without any issue but when I configure the third E1 line i get a n error that
Not enough DSP resources available
Available resources can only be used to configure 4 channels
I did a show inventory but can see only a PVDM-64 but cannot see the PVDM4-256, I checked inside the cabinet and see only a PVDM4-64 mounted on the NIM card but cannot see the PVDM-256 anywhere onthe board
Am I missing out something here?
Do I need to enable the module or slot, if so how would i know the slot number?
I will put up the screenshots of the inventory output later as currently do not have access to my email.
Meanwhile pleasee guide me so i can figure this one out?
Regards
Alok

Hello Alok,
It seems to be a hardware issue.
According the document bellow (page 5), you should be able to see a PVDM4-128 in the show inventory output.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/4000-series-integrated-services-routers/118792-config-isr-00.pdf
In fact, I have a 4451 with some NIM-8MFT-T1/E1 and I am able to see a PVDM4-256 for each NIM module.
Unfortunatelly, the document does not suggest any step to troubleshoot the PVDM module.
Maybe only a RMA will solve your case.

Hi Gilmar,
Thanks for your reply.
You mentioned that you are able to see the PVDM for each NIM module, are you referring to the output of the "show inventory" ?
Also can you tell me if you had to enable it in any way or when you first booted up your VG you were able to see it?
Here is what I see on my VG

Hi Alok,
if ISC Led is Off , that means PVDM is not present on Motherboard. You can refer Table 1-3
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/4400/hardware/installation/guide4400-4300/C4400_isr/Overview.html#80850

Hey Guys,
Thanks for your inputs, the customer had misplaced the additional PVDM box but claimed to not have been delivered. We were able to locate it and all is good now.

Alok
