Hi,

I cannot confirm your observation - even with K5=1, the offset-list has an impact on a topology I've just tested.

Can you please share the exact IOS version you are using? Also, can you share the configuration of your EIGRP process including the show ip eigrp topology x.x.x.x/m output before and after applying an offset-list? Please keep in mind that the offset-list translates to the increase of the delay component in the metric, so if you're ignoring the delay component (K3=0), the offset-list will not have an impact. Also, I suggest adding the metrc in the offset-list in increments of 256, not less.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

first of all tnx for your answer,

Here are configs that u asked for:

Ios version is :

BOOTLDR: 7200 Software (C7200-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(4)T1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc4)

show ip eigrp topology
before offset-list command

P 192.168.2.0/24, 2 successors, FD is 11001
via 10.0.2.2 (11001/9001), Serial2/1
via 10.0.1.2 (11001/9001), Serial2/0

after the offset list command is configured i don't see any impact on metrics,

and I don't understand why u say the added number should not be less than 256!!!

I guessed  the offset-list command just add a number to the calculated metrics by router....

R2#sho run | s eigrp
router eigrp 100
offset-list 1 in 10 Serial2/1
network 10.0.1.1 0.0.0.0
