RV325 WAN Failover minimum time

We used the RV042 before, and if we use 1 sec and 1 time as the failover parameter, the failover occur instantly.  (1 - 2 seconds)

On the RV325, if we set retry count = 1  and retry timeout 1 sec, the failover time seems to be around 7 seconds.  Is there anything I can do to make the failover time less than 7 seconds?  We have already uncheck the SPI and the Network Service Detection.

Also, is there any suggestion on how to test the WAN failover?  Currently I have 2 ISP plugged in, and I will do a ping to 4.2.2.2.  Then I will unplug WAN1 from the RV325.  Is there a better way to imitate an ISP outage?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Mark Taylor,

Thanks for contacting Cisco support community centre.

I hope you are doing well. I am really sorry for inconvenience caused and delayed response.

We did lab using RV042 and RV325 (latest firmware version).

In RV042 (SPI Disabled) Primary Wan failover recovery is around 3 seconds.

In RV325 (SPI Disabled) Primary Wan Failover recovery is around 5 seconds.

In our lab test also same variance occurs.
