Did you have a valid DHCP with option 150 in it, and that TFTP with the 7940 phone FW in it to perform the factory reset???

if this helps, please rate

How can i configure it by the 150 option?

I have a 192.168.5.0 LAN.  Here is how I award dhcp option 150 to phones

ip dhcp pool ccp-pool
 import all
 network 192.168.5.0 255.255.255.0
 dns-server 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
 default-router 192.168.5.1
 option 150 ip 192.168.5.1
 option 66 ip 192.168.5.1

I'm gonna explain better:

My phone can't find the tftp file and that is why the settings button doesn't work, after a research seems like the only way to exit of this is doing reachable any configuration file by tftp. After to read a lot i have arrive to the conclusion that there are two diferent ways to solve this issue:

1. Using a tftp program and configuring it  as a server.

2. Using my router as a tftp server.

I have found a configuration file from 3cx but i'm using a yeastar PBX so:

1. i don't know if this file is compatible whit yeastar.

2. If it doesn't: have you guys the proper file?

On the other hand i don't know how to send this file to the phone by using the tftp software. (i'm using tftpd32)

Thanks a lot.

My phone can't find the tftp file and that is why the settings button doesn't work,

Let me hazard a guess here:  The phone will be used to connect to a non-Cisco CallManager.  Am I correct?

yes. That's correct.

7940/7960 phones with non-Cisco CallManager is achievable but you'll need to prepare the following:

1.  TFTP server with the firmware of the phones;

2.  DHCP Option 150;

3.  SEPmacaddress.cnf.xml file for a 7940/7960;

4.  Dialplan.xml file;

5.  SIPDefault.cnf file; and

6. XMLDefault.cnf.xml file

That will depend on who is the DHCP, you can google DHCP + option 150 to get examples for ios devices and Windows.
