Hi,

the best procedure would be using Cisco Prime Collaboration Deployment (PCD) and let PCD do the migration.

The OVA for PCD can be downloaded from cco.

In this case you will not need the new servers you deployed.

The second best way is to do a 'jump upgrade'.

In this case you will not need the new servers you deployed either.

There are older threads available with some information:

hi

as i said i need to migrate date and license from cucm cluster 8.6 installed on MCS servers to 11.5 installed on separate BE7000 serveres

You're making this hard on yourself by doing it that way, but, if you want to use that route, your only option is to use BAT to get the data from 8.6 to 11.5, and don't forget that since those are different major releases, you'll have to massage the data as required before you can import on 11.5

Taking a BAT export and importing it without doing anything to it, can only be done for the same version, just as DRS.

Easier alternatives:

A) PCD migration

B) Install your SAME release on UCS, DRS restore, then upgrade.

For the license, you need to engage licensing to move it.

Hi Jaime,

I am going to migrate CUCM 8.6 to 11.5 and I would like to use PCD tool, but I just have a doubt. Is there any problem with IP Phone's ITL when I try to register them on new CUCM 11.5?

If this helps, do not forget, rate!!

Hi,

In CUCM 11 licenses are user based and there are no DLU's or node based licenses. For migrating licenses you need to download  and run the License Count [LCU] utility on one of your workstations. LCU would contact your 8.6 CUCM Publisher and give u a breakup of UCL/CUWL licenses. Once you have the breakup of the licenses and share this report to licensing@cisco.com. Also you need to generate the license request from PLM.
