CPU loaded on Cisco 1921 router due to traffic

Hello All,

The CPU of a router is overloaded, due to traffic. When the bandwidth is loaded, the CPU is loaded as well.

Please see attached the input of the commands "show proc cpu history" and "show proc cpu sorted" on 1 minute intervall. It goes from 50% to 86 or 90%.

Do you have any idea of a bug on the cisco 1921 routers regarding CPU load ? The software in place on this router is a c1900-universalk9-mz.SPA.153-3.M6

Thank you

Cisco recommends a 1921 for up to 15 Mbps  (although in a perfect setup, Cisco also documents the 1921 can forward up to 2.77 Gbps).  What's the total bandwidth, passing through your router, when the CPU is high?

It's possible you're bumping up against the performance limitations of the platform, not a bug.  If so, you can either see if you can reduce your router's configuration complexity or streamline it.  Otherwise, you'll need a faster, more powerful, forwarding platform.

There's indeed a complex configuration implemented on this router, and the bandwidth can achieve a total (Up/Down) of 35 Mbps.

It seems that we will need to change the platform.

Thank you
