GLC-LH-SMD still offer same compatability with other existing Cisco equipment?

I need a confirmation from Cisco that –GLC-LH-SMD SFP IS COMPATIBLE with Cisco EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU and Cisco Router 1921/K9.

If the use of –SMD requires additional licenses on 1921/K9 or different 1921/K9 Firmware we CANNOT accept the change from original/EOL GLC-LH-SM

You should be good to go and no additional license required for DOM.

Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver Modules Compatibility Matrix is the authoritative document from Cisco, that I could locate. It goes to state GLC-LH-SMD is meant to work with HWIC-1GE-SFP (15.0(1)M onwards) & EHWIC-1GE-SFP-CU (15.1(4M) onwards).

For this platform, licensing does not govern use of SFP.

Do you have this and it is not working? OR are you concerned about End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Select Cisco Gigabit Ethernet SFP Modules ? What is your specific concern?

Asking questions to better understand what is of concern to you. Once that is understood, I will do my best to address them.
