I have a setup with a 5696Q linked to TOR 2232TM-P  running version 7.

I''d like to know if L3 ports are supported on the FEX and second question if routing (i.e. OSPF) can be sent through it.

I found an article online and tried the commands to convert a FEX port to L3 mode and got the following:

POM-HQA06-5696Q-Sw2(config)# int Eth103/1/30
POM-HQA06-5696Q-Sw2(config-if)# no switchport
ERROR: Ethernet103/1/30: configuration not allowed on this interface
