Hi All,

Hoping you can help me with this.

I have a site that is using RIPv2 to advertise its routes using the following settings on a WS-C3650-24TS running 03.03.04SE  :-

router rip
 version 2
 redistribute connected
 passive-interface default
 network 10.0.0.0
 neighbor 10.204.0.13
 distribute-list 14 out Vlan100
 no auto-summary

access-list 14 remark PREVENT ANNOUNCING EXISTING SUBNET
access-list 14 permit 10.204.0.24 0.0.0.7

The Configuration on the Interfaces is as follows.

As you can see all the subnets that are advertised are withing the 10.197.0.0 255.255.240.0  Mask

The Output of show ip rip database shows

10.197.0.0/20    int-summary

10.197.2.0/25    directly connected, Vlan110

And the output of show ip protocols is :-

*** IP Routing is NSF aware ***

So as far as I can see it should only be announcing 10.197.0.0/20 to the Router.

But, looking at the router connected to this switch, I see the Following :-

#show ip route | inc 10.197

Thanks

Hi

Could you tell us about your neighbour peer? It seems that the neighbouring is done through vlan 101 (what the output shows) however on your rip configuration you just allowed neighbour 10.204.0.13 that corresponds to vlan 100 (on your config output).

Which one is correct?

Anyway, on this vlan 100 you didn't set the ip summary rip command.

Thanks
