Mobility for cisco IP Phones

Hi,

One of our customer is looking for a solution where they can have IP Phones for home users who are connected via DSL Connection.

AS i know earlier this was provided by Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage using ASA Phone proxy and required to purchase ASA Phone proxy licenses.

Current CUCM version is 10.x

Just wanted to know what is the current solution? Do we still need phone proxy licenses? is ASA boxes also required?

Need to understand the pre requisite of the solution and how it works.

regards,

Ajay

You can use an SSL VPN on either an ASA or IOS router. You will need the proper SSL VPN licenses. Take a look at the following links.

Another option is to setup a site-to-site VPN with an ASA or router at the remote site and hand out DHCP option 150 pointing to your TFTP server.

One other thing. Make sure your users are aware of the pitfalls with this scenario - poor call quality do to best effort internet service, lack of emergency service, etc.
