Hello
Is it possible to migrate vWLC from VMware ESX to HyperV? vWLC version 8.0.140.0.
Regards.

Cisco only support install on ESX or KVM I'm afraid!

Why in first answer on below page there is an information about support HyperV:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/virtual-wireless-controller/qa_c67-715130.html
?

Ah that's new to me, 20th April so fairly recent... I would assume that a migration is not possible so your best bet would be to backup the config from your current vWLC by uploading the config to a TFTP/FTP server then installing a fresh version on hyper-v and downloading the config to it.

ITCPOLAND, You managed to run virtual WLC (Release 8.4.100.0 ) in Hyper-v? As far as I understand this image MFG_CTVM_SMALL_8.4.100.0.iso can work in Hyper-V. Did you run it?

I'm very interested in this myself. I got 8.4.100.0 installed to Hyper-V but it doesn't seem to see the vlan tagged traffic. You need to do some goofy things to get the Hyper-V vSwitch to pass VLANs through to a VM, but I tried that and it didn't seem to make a difference.
I love how it states in the FAQ that Hyper-V is supported yet we don't have the deployment documentation for Hyper-V yet. Please give us some good documentation Cisco, thanks!!

That's it http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/8-4/b_Cisco_vWLC_on_Microsoft_Hyper-V_Deployment_Guide.html

I saw that Cisco added new IOS version with hyper-V support: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn84.html#hyperv-vwlc
Is there anyone who tested it?
How to install it? Which hyper-V machine generation should be selected?

Hi,
Did you need to rehost licences or could you push them to the new install under Hyper-V without any problems ?
Thanks,
