Booting Problem In 3850

We try to load our standard code in our brand new 3850.

we copy our standard ios image to the flash.

we get this problem.

boot system switch all flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.03.E.152-2.E3.bin
config-register 0x2102

Rebooting continuously:

switch: boot flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.03.E.152-2.E3.bin

Can you load the old IOS that was on the switch and than load the new IOS on the flash and run

software install file flash:<new ios>

We try to load our standard code in our brand new 3850.

"brand new"????  When the switch was powered up for the first time, what version did the switch boot up?  Denali?

If the answer is "yes", then there is a known bug (CSCva22409) which prevents certain models of 3650 & 3850 from loading anything from 3.6.X and lower.  The switch will only boot 3.7.X and above.

The release notes clearly state how to upgrade or downgrade between IOS versions. Also suggest you read about the difference between BUNDLE mode and INSTALL mode. In short, Bundle mode is the "old" way of loading IOS by pointing your boot variable to a ".bin" file.  The new and suggested method is to install the software onto the flash with either the "software install file ..." or "request platform software install..." commands.
