Cisco unity voicemail delivery with Google

I know nothing about Unity. We currently use a crap email system and our investigating moving to Google. One thing we are trying to figure out is how to get voicemails to email like our current system. I know we can get Ensa to integrate but this is what we are thinking.

Voicemail come in and sends email to Google with recorded message attached. We then want to have a short retention of 1 day or shorter on Unity. 

This seems logical to use but we don't know if this will work. Any help or tips would be great.

OK, there are two ways in which you can handle this, one is using Esna to get UM with Gmail, UM means that what you have in your email server and the CUC server, will always be in sync. If you delete the VM from CUC, it will be deleted from Gmail, Exchange, etc.

Same the other way around, if you delete the email from Gmail, Exchange, etc. it's deleted in CUC.

You listen to the VM in either and the MWI goes off, etc. That's the whole point of UM, to have them sync.

The other option, is simply accept and relay, CUC gets a VM, and it relays it to whatever mail system you like, and CUC forgets about it, and doesn't care what happens to that copy.

Sounds like you actually want the 2nd option.
