Advantages: Static routes are fast and easy to implement, it does not require updates like dynamic routing protocols. Don't consume high CPU utilization.
Disadvantages: It is not scalable, it is difficult to manage on largest networks, if a next hop changes you need to modify it on the static routes manually. It cannot be adapted to the topology so the redundancy could be difficult to implement with static routes.
