SAS LSI 2008i RAID controller compatibility with UCS-HD600G10K12G

Dear Friends,

One of my customer has C240M3S server with SAS LSI 2008i RAID controller & A03-D600GA2 HDD . Right now customer want to upgrade the server with additional drives of "A03-D600GA2 " . Unfortunately cisco announced these drives as EOL due to newer generation servers & speed demand.

Cisco EOL document says the replacement is UCS-HD600G10K12G . But it is not listed any where in the support matrix in Cisco documents. Up to my knowledge these repalcement HDD are supported by 12GBPS storage/RAID controllers only.

Could you guys please help me with right solution.

I'm guessing you have a C220M3 if the LSI 2008 mezz controller is in use.

Checking the C220M3 spec sheet at http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-c-series-rack-servers/c220m3-sff-specsheet.pdf the replacement drive you referenced, UCS-HD600G10K12G, is listed there as a valid option.

Based on the specsheet the UCS-HD600G10K12G drives will work, and are supported.

The C240M3 specsheet also lists that drive, so you are covered, as far as compatibility goes.
