Slow wifi speed on AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9

Hi all

I am having a slow connection on Cisco access points . 10* (AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9. )

on average i get about 4-5 MB/s Transfer Rate.

Given that all connections between devices is Gigabit.

we have tested the scenario when only one client is connected , and all network is empty (National Vacation day) ,the transfer rate is around 6 MB/s.

Anyone can advise what to check ? how to resolve and increase speed?

This behavior is for all the access points ? i guess it's not a topology issue ,but more like a configuration issue on WLC 2504?

please assist.

the schema is :

Core Switch (WS-C4503-E) -> Switch SG300-52P-K9-NA -> 3 Access Points (AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9).

Core Switch (WS-C4503-E) -> Switch WS-C2960-24PC-L -> 2 Access Point (AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9)
Core Switch (WS-C4503-E) -> Switch WS-C2960-24PC-L -> 1` Access Point (AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9)

Core Switch (WS-C4503-E) -> Switch WS-C2960-24PC-L -> 2 Access Point (AIR-CAP1602I-E-K9)

Core Switch (WS-C4503-E) ->Wireless controller (AIR-CT2504-K9)

Total :

1*Core Switch (WS-C4503-E) , Connected to 4 (Switch WS-C2960-24PC-L ) and 1* Switch SG300-52P-K9-NA.+ 1*WLC 2504

The 4*2960 and the 1*SG300 are the ones connected to the 10*1602 Access points.

Pls attach "show sysinfo" and "show wlan <wlan_id>" output to see how you configure your SSID.

Also let us know about what client you use for this testing. Most of the time wireless performace is limited to client capability. See below site for client capability comparison

Ahram,

Thanks for output.

From the radio policy, I see that we are making use 2.4 radio and channel the client is in 13. Any specific reason why we are not using 1,6,11. Can you please share the supported channels for 2.4 radio profile?

Was this working fine or is it a new set up?

Also below is the output which I am looking for and it ended up showing as unavailable. Can you closely watch one more client which is facing the issue and see if we get an output for this.

You are running very old code and it could be specific to code you are running. I would upgrade it to 8.2.160.0 code & see if same issue still there. Here is 8.2.160.0 release notes for reference
