we have a Wireless AP 3702 has PD ports but is varying in its PoE draw. sometimes it draws 16.8W, sometimes 15.4W. We have it connected to a PoE injector that can provide 30W. it works in the lab but not in the actual network. is anyone else having this happen? any ideas?

What is the model of the switch and the IOS version of the switch?
Is CDP enabled?
What version of code is the AP/WLC running on?

Firmware is a special engineering release. It's also hard to troubleshoot since the AP is powered up using an injector.

Are you stating that there is a fw release for the customer to update his AP and this may resolve it?

No, what I meant was the number of factors affecting the AP's current behaviour multiplies because of the power injector and the firmware version.
You might want to run a TDR on the cables as a start.

ah! I see....will pass that along. thanks.

I had told the customer I felt there was some kind of interference in the actual application, because in the bench test, all the products worked fine. Well, he indeed found that there is a problem with the Ethernet cabling in the application. So case closed!!! THANKS
