PPP over Ethernet

I need to authorize users from campus network for access in to network, as I suppose one of the solution is User Registration Tool & Catalyst powered network. And the other PPPoE. So I need provide users with PPPoE client (which Cisco or third party product will you reccomend) and the other - what device I need to use for terminating PPPoE sessions????? Cisco 1700/2600/3600/7200? or this feature is supported only in soft for xDSL concentrators?
