When SMTP Server Hijack,can IDS do action?

I verify IDS System under Test-environment.

When SMTP Server Hijack,can IDS do any action?

I consider if SMTP Server is hijacked via

Telnet-session etc and send to SMTP directly mail-send command,IDS cannot protect action.

Please tell me this IDS activity.

If SMTP Server is hijacked by TELNET-session,

This problem is security policy about

TELNET-session,not SMTP's IDS problem.
