I've been told by the local ISP to change the MTU for our DSL connection to internet to 1500 to avoid possible problems .

Is it true ?

Do I have to set it to 1500 on both ethernet and DSL interfaces ?

thanks

Hi!

A MTU Size of 1500 is the physical Maximum of Ethernet. DSL use Ethernet (A DSL ist often Ethernet or ATM).

So it is OK if you set the MTU on both sides to 1500.

But normally this should be set by default.

May you take a look with

"sh int eth0" there you will find the actual MTU-Size

which is set.

Best Regards
