Steps to update signature

Hi..

I am running sensor 2.2.0 and director 2.2.1. I have

obtain nrUpdate-sol-sparc-2_2_1_8.bin from the vendor. But there's no readme with it. How do i execute the binary file on the sensor and where should it be placed. By the way, is the signature file the latest one ? Thanks in advance

All of the updates can be found under the following page on CCO:

The 2.2.1.8 update is an old update and is under the Archive link for the appliance sensor and unix director. The readme for 2.2.1.8 that explains the installation and the updates contents are in the same location.

The latest version for the sensor is 3.0(3)S15

To go from 2.2.1 to 3.0(3)S15:

1) Select the Order Latest Upgrade/Recovery CD.

You will need a contract number to receive this for free.

Or you can purchase the CD from the standard method for ordering Cisco products.

2) Install the latest version CD which should bring you version 3.0(1)S4.

The CD re-images your entire hard drive and installs a new Operating System.

3) Install the latest Service Pack 3.0(3)S12 found under the link for Latest Software for the Appliance.

4) Install the latest Signature Update 3.0(3)S15 also found under the link for the Latest Software for the Appliance.

The latest version for the director is 2.2.3 with S14 signatures.

To get to the latest:

1) Install the 2.2.3 upgrade found under the link for the Latest Software for the Unix Director.

2) Install the S14 Signature Update also found under the link for the Latest Software for the Unix Director.
