I have lines to two different ISP's and I want to load balance between the two. I am currently using BGP with route maps and prepend but that is not true load balancing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
AS Path prepend impacts your inbound traffic, not your outbound traffic. Are you trying to balance your outbound traffic? If so, then you should be able to do this with simple defaults/etc. For inbound, you don't have a lot of control.
I am trying to manage both inbound and outbound. My manager wants me to investigate using the traffic-shaping command. What is the disadvantage of using this to set a limit on one T1 and then have the rest of the traffic go to the other T1. THanks for your help.
