Hello, I have Unity 3.0.2 using G.729 with Unified Messaging. Using G.729 to conserve bandwith across WAN. When a user receives a voicemail, and forwards it via email, the recipient of the .wav attachment is unable to play it. I cannot recall the exact error message. I think its "an invalid media type was specified" displayed in Windows Media Player. Error ID = 0x80040200, Remedy ID = 0x00000000

It appears this is related to using G.729 instead of G.711 to record messages, and I've researched and found that Windows Media Player does not have codec support for G.729.

Anyone have suggestions for a player that will play the .wav attachment? Or, must I go back to G.711.

The Cisco Viewmail for Outlook (VMO) plug-in for Microsoft Outlook will play the g.729 format. Since this is a licensed product you should contact sales if you are interested in adding it.
