PIX 6.2.1 No RIP Default Route Broadcast

Unanswered Question

After upgrading our PIX to version 6.2.1 we have noticed that it no longer broadcasts its default route as earlier versions did. We have verified that this feature is, in fact, activated via the command 'rip inside default' and that the static default route exists on the outside interface.

We use the PIX to broadcast the static route throughout our enterprise, as all of our edge routers learn ALL of their routes (including the default) through RIP. Once again, this worked perfectly before upgrading to 6.2.1.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should talk to Cisco about it. We don’t use RIP in our network but it sounds like a software bug if it did work before.
