Unity Networking Voice Names Not Replicating

I am having an issue with voice names not replicating to remote unity servers (same domain). <br><br>I am not seeing any errors in the event log, except this one when the server boots:<br><br>Message Queuing was unable to join the local Windows 2000 domain. Hresult- c00e0075h <br><br>When I call the remote unity server, perform dial-by-name lookup for a user on the other unity server, it plays back the extension rather than the voice name. <br><br>The remote server is configured to allow G729, whereas the local server is not. I know that very well could be the issue, but I know other prompts recorded at 711 will play to a 729 call. The voice names do appear to be replicating properly. I see the names appearing on both servers.

you can verify if voice names are replicating around real quick by taking a peek in the \commserver\streamfiles directory. The voice names for all usrs (local or not) should end up in here eventually. The voice names should have the format: "(user alias)_subname_(unique number).WAV". You should be able to verify if names from remote users are included here.

If they are then it's likely the codec issue. Do you have the G729a codec at least installed on both Unity boxes (it's not by default). We will transcode on the fly from 711 to 729 or vice versa but the code has to be registered on the box properly for us to do that.

If the names are not appearing there then something else, much stranger, is afoot. I'm pulling for the codec thing myself...

As far as the codec issue, I was hoping to remove G729 from both boxes and use transcoder resources. This would probably alleviate some of the quality issues we have with voice mails and greetings.

If I put a transcoder resource in the location with the Unity server without G729, will the voice prompts play correctly or is the conversion done internally in Unity just for requested prompts?

It appears that Unity now supports G729a out of the box.

I have not added the G729a update to the Unity server, yet I am getting the "AvCiscoTsp device 5: G729a capable." messages in my event log.

the codec is not installed by default... I'm pretty sure. The support for it at the TSP level is always there I belive but you still need to install the codec.

did you ever determine if the voice names were replicating around? This should be the first thing you verify so we know which end of the pond the problem lies.
