Cisco 2620 -> 3Com 4400 route on stack VLAN 1 Problem

Unanswered Question

interface FastEthernet0/0

no ip address

speed 100

half-duplex

no cdp enable

interface FastEthernet0/0.1

encapsulation dot1Q 1 native

ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

interface FastEthernet0/0.2

encapsulation dot1Q 2

ip address 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0

interface FastEthernet0/0.3

encapsulation dot1Q 3

ip address 192.168.3.1 255.255.255.0

Here are the 2620 config. and connect to 3Com 4400.

VLAN 2, 3 PC can ping VLAN 2,3 default gateway. but VLAN 1 can't ping

We found that if add one more sub-interface VLAN4

interface FastEthernet0/0.4

encapsulation dot1Q 4 native

then the VLAN 1 PC can ping VLAN 1 default gateway.

anyone can tell me what's happening ?

Sounds like a native VLAN mismatch, check to see what your native VLAN is set to on both sides of the connection. Also, make sure the device pinging VLAN 1 gateway is actually on VLAN 1.
