The Catalyst 5500 RSM failed to ping all the hosts in the same vlan (ID is 6), then it is OK after "clear arp" on the RSM, but then failed after some time. The symptom was repeated. it is why?

something else is ARPing for the hosts you are trying to reach. You have a bridging loop, check layer2 and trace the MAC addresses on the switch.
