DPT and TE

I was just wondering about if/how Cisco recommends in implementing MPLS TE on a DPT ring.

MPLS traffic engineering does not support DPT, at least as of 12.0(9).

It is difficult to run TE over shared media such as DPT, since all the DPT nodes are directly connected from MPLS perspective. That means if you send a packet from node A to node B thru intermediate node C, node C will perform regular SRP switching with no MPLS TE involvement..unless you specify explicit TE path.

What impact do you think there would be if you implement MPLS TE on a DPT ring? MPLS TE happens a different layer and therefore should not be a problem to implement. What specifically are you wanting to implement with MPLS TE?
