Problems After Upgrading to New IOS (12.2.7a) With Passwords

Essentially, the title tells it all. After upgrading from 12.0.8 to 12.2.7a, our passwords wouldn't work. Is this because of a different encryption algorithm? We are using the service password-encryption command, and would like to keep it on during our installations.

One can only speculate - possibly a bug with the service password-enc command in the new version, possibly a corrupted config file, it is hard to say. I am not aware of any encr. algo. changes.

I would search CCO for known bugs, and/or open a TAC case on this issue. In any case, you can do a password recovery using procedures found on CCO.
