I am completly in the dark when it comes to appletalk. Can someone tell me if I need to configure the Cable-Range the same on each side of a point-to-point serial connection? Also are there any caviots involved in running VoIP along the same route with Appletalk traffic?

Here is the config so far on a 7200...

interface Serial4/0:0

description Connected to BLA_BLA_BLA

ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.x

encapsulation ppp

ip mroute-cache

appletalk cable-range 10-10 10.209

appletalk zone WANHOST

no cdp enable

These are a 7200 series router to a 2620 via a frac T. Any pointers or links?

Thanks,

Josh

Appletalk is a very chatty protocol, keeps talking every 10 seconds, if you are running RTMP between the routers, which i think, is enabled by default.

Either ends should have the same zone name configured.

VOIP might face trouble with Appletalk around.
