prioritize voice mails over e-mails

I have Unified messaging with Exchange 2k. When you access your voice mail box from your phone, the messages are read in order of arrival. Newest ones first, regaurdless of what they are (e.g. vm or email). Does anyone know of a way to have the Voice Mails read first, regaurdless of when they were received? Or is there a way to segment them, by giving the subsriber the option to dial 1 for voice mail or 2 for e-mail?

Thanks,

Geoff

Your description of the inbox stack is not correct... we don't just play all the messages in one big heap in the order they arrived.

You hear urgent voice mails, then voice mail, then urgent email, then email, then urgent faxes, then urgent faxes, then faxes. Receipts (NDRS and read/delivery receipts) are lumped in with voice mails currently.

this order is hard coded currently and can't be changed. In Unity 4.0, however, we will offer the new FlexStack feature which will allow folks to dictate the order of all the messag types (including reciepts in their own stack) and to dictate LIFO/FIFO order seperately for read and unread messages. This can be done on a per user basis so everyone can fiddle to their hearts content to get the stack order they want.

You are correct with NEW messages. However; what about SAVED messages, that are already read?

Geoff

The same stacks are used for the read messages as for the unread messages... only the LIFO/FIFO order is changed when going into read messages.

Okay, I'll look at it. When do you anticipate the release of 4.0?

Geoff

Current release to production date is the end of the year.
