3002 and PPPoE (PAP or CHAP?)

Can I set my 3002 to use one authentication protocol over another? I have a PPPoE circuit that uses pap.

The 3002 uses PAP. There is no config for the 3002 to have this changed.

We just had a big issue on this. Some of our remote users connected back to our 3030 via Ameritech's DSL that used MS-CHAP. Ameritech just switched a bunch of states over to using PAP instead for the PPPoE authentication. Now they don't work. Cisco said that the 3002's support both but try them one after the other until one works. They are looking into a way to fix this for us because now they will not authenticate via PAP.
