Problem upgrading 3640 IOS

DOUGLAS EVANS

Trying to upgrade 3640 IOS from IP (c3640-i-mz.122-5d) to IP Plus. Router has 32mb memory, a 1FE2W network mod and a WIC-1DSU-T1 card. Release notes say I have enough memory, however when I upgraded via tftp with c3640-is-mz.121-5 or c3640-is-mz.120-13 and do a show interfaces, there are no interfaces displayed and of course there are no interfaces for me to configure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like the code you loaded (12.1.5 and 12.0.13 Mainline) do not support your 1FE2w module and this is most likely why you're not seeing anything interfaces. The following is minimum required for this module.

12.0(7)XK, 12.1(1)T, 12.1(5)YB, 12.1(5)YD, 12.2(1), 12.2(2)T, 12.2(2)XT,

12.2(8)T

Hope this helps,

Thanks Don, guess I shouldn't assume that what I get through distribution is necessarily the correct rev.
