Can a user pull content from the CDM using SSL? If so how would this be set up on the CDM?

Thanks

The Cisco Internet CDN Software uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for Java to encrypt all inter-device communications.

SSL uses the sockets method of communication between client and server, coupled with RSA Security's public key encryption technology to secure data using digital certificates as it is transmitted between CDN devices over the Internet.

The Cisco CDM includes a comprehensive management interface that is protected by a user name and password and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption

However, I am not sure if the content can be pulled using SSL.

Hi,

the used protocol between the CDM and the CEs is SODA or MODA. This is used for communication and content exchange. SADO and MODA us HTTPS for communication.

Hope this helps.

Hello,

In ECDN 3.x and ACNS 4.x, content was stored on the CDM. In these releases, you could only retrieve content from the CDM if you were either on the same subnet as the CDM, or an administrator. This content was only served via HTTP, MMS or RTSP.

In ACNS 5.x, no content resides on the CDM, so you cannot fetch any content from this device. The CDM in ACNS 5.x is strictly a management device, and does not house content. Only system usage logs are stored on the CDM in ACNS 5.x.
