what is the difference between switch routing and router routing .
your comments are mostly appreciated.

Not sure if I understand what you are asking. We have some layer 3 switches such as CAT3550-EMI, 4006 with Supervisor 3, 6500 with MSFC etc which can do switching as well as layer 3 routing.
We also have dedicated routers for routing(ofcourse you could bridge on them)

Which platform are you refering to ? There are some machines such as the cat6500 which can do L3 switching. This means that this machine is capable of switching L3 traffic in hardware. L3 hardware switching will always lead to better performances than 'software' switching occuring on routers (even if CEF is enabled on those routers).
