dlsw - question

hi,

my question regarding dlsw config:

i have a cisco 7513 router on which i have configured 3 different virtual rings because of a cip-interface

and so on:

source-bridge ring-group 10

source-bridge ring-group 20

source-bridge ring-group 30

so i have 3 virtual-rings on this router.

now i have the task to enable dlsw to other 200 routers on which i have to transport over 1000 sna-sessions.

is it possible to configure this router in such a way, that if it gets sna-frames (explorer,..)

from the 200 routers (and therefore 1000 sna-session) that the dlsw-prozeß forwards these frames only to one

certain virtual ring - for example only to virtual ring 10 ??

i want to avoid that if the net comes up that these 1000 explorers are forwardet to all three virtual rings -because of

cpu util!

i think the default design of dlsw is to forward this traffic to all virtual rings.

thanks and greetings from austria and a happy new year 2003 !

You may want to contact Cisco directly to see if they have the answer you are looking for.

I wouldnt worry about the virtual ring, your data target is a mac address of a host. WHich ever Ring sees that host will handle the traffic.

How are you defining your DLSW peers ? If you are doing static peering, your

setup overhead is considerably less, since the routers do a capabilities exchange on which mac addressess they can reach.
