Hi,
I would like to know which throughput (either maximum or "normal") I can have on a 7206VXR/NPE300 without any additional hardware (no ISA or VAM)
regards,
Yves

We currently have about 6 7200's all with about 9 IPSec encrypted GRE Tunnels on each. We do not have any VPN hardware and our 7200's are 7206VXR (NPE300). Our VPN's are connected via varias WAN interfaces (2Mb fibre, T1, E1, etc) and we do not see any performance degredation due to the IPSec encryption. IE packets traverse between the routers at same speed if they go out unencrypted (no IPSec).
So unless you are planning on having more than about 20 VPN tunnels on a single 7200 additianal hardware to improve VPN performance should not be required.

My customer think about a quite lager throughput (E3).
Perhaps could you tell me how much cpu encrytion eat on your system, and which amount of data get encryted?
Thanks,
Yves
